DAVE School Wins Three Telly Awards including Gold People’s Telly Award

DAVE School took home three Telly Awards at the 42nd Annual Telly Awards which took place on May 25, 2021. The annual awards honor television and video creators across all screens and receives over 12,000 entries from the United States and five continents. Entries of these prestigious awards are judged by The Telly Awards Judging council which consists of over 200 experts from production companies, major television networks and advertising agencies.

Award winners are recognized for their excellence in the following categories: Branded Content, Commercials & Marketing, Immersive & Mixed Reality, Non-Broadcast, Series / Shows / Segments and Social Video.

DAVE School took home two wins for the immersive virtual reality event ‘Creature Feature Drive-In: A VR Experience.’ The event which was built in Engage VR won both the People’s Telly Gold Telly in the Immersive & Mixed Reality Category as well as a Bronze Telly in the Virtual Events & Experiences category. This is DAVE School’s first ever Gold Telly and People’s Telly win in its 20 year history. DAVE School also took home a Bronze Telly for its ‘20th Anniversary Event’ submission in the Virtual Events & Experiences category.

DAVE School recognizes the importance of Immersive Technologies and Experiences in our Industry and with Engage.io and Unreal Engine as academic partners, we have been ahead of the curve in bringing them to our student body. Students will soon have the opportunity to explore these platforms further with our newly created 18 month Virtual Production Diploma program coming late July,” stated Executive Director Gina Rhodes.

What are the Telly Awards?

The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring video and television. Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards help honor excellence in video and television across all screens. The Telly Awards is judged by the Telly Award Judging Council. Entries are judged on a performance scale and winners are recognized and awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze based on the combined scoring of the judges.
