Obtain Your Form I-20 from your Designated School Official

All international students that are looking to study in the United States are required to have a Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.” Once a student is accepted into DAVE School, international students will receive a Form I-20 from their designated school official or DSO. You must sign the Form I-20 along with your DSO. If you’re under the age of 18, your parents or legal guardian must sign for you. If you plan on bringing dependents along with you to the United States, they must also have a Form I-20.

Form I-20 is an important document that must be kept safe as it’s needed during the international student life cycle.

Pay Your I-901 SEVIS Fee

You must pay for the I-901 SEVIS Fee after receiving the Form I-20 from your designated school official or DSO. There’s information that’s located on Form I-20 that will help you pay the fee. Paying the I-901 SEVIS Fee is required prior to entering the United States.

What do I need to pay the I-901 SEVIS fee?
● Your full name, date of birth, and email address.
● Country of birth and citizenship.
● School Code as it’s listed on the Form I-20 “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.”
● SEVIS Identification Number as listed on Form I-20.

Obtain Your Student Visa

Your Form I-20 lists your program start date 30 days before you’re allowed to enter the United States. Your F-1 Student Visa must match the type of Form I-20 that you have. You are expected to have the ORIGINAL Form I-20 at your visa interview.
